I have 4 kids. With our first child 12-years-ago, I worked for 6 months and then left my job to stay-at-home with her. My employer offered me a contract job where I could work from home, I took it. I stayed contact for 4 years – and had our second child in the interim. I went back to full-time with my employer when our second child, was 2-years-old.

When our second child was 5-years-old, I had our third child – while working. Returning to work was hell. I was traveling. After my maternity leave, the first week back – I remember having to get on a plane and travel. It was a nightmare. For the next 6 months after he was born, it was non-stop travel. Then when our third child was 9 months, I found out I was pregnant with our fourth child.

After our fourth child was born, I was offered an extension and expansion in a side job I had been working. I left my employer and corporate America and just worked from home. This lasted for 3 and a half years when I was offered a full-time job working with the same team I had spent many years with.

So here I am. I have a 4, 5, 10 and 12-year-old. I work from home a few days a week and am in the office a few days a week. I work 50+ hours a week and totally am with you moms who love working but love being with your kids. It’s A LOT to pull everything off. Some days I fail. Some days are a success.
